Our weekend retreat provides the sweet opportunity to slow down, separate yourself from technology and ‘doing’, allowing time and space for stress to melt away, and for calmness and kindness to settle into your being. This weekend is for you!

Our focus on ‘deepening your yoga’ includes a variety of yoga practices, pranayama, meditation, and the teachings from yoga philosophy. We’ll weave insights into the Eight Limbs of Yoga, Yoga Sutras, Patanjali, the Yamas and Niyamas, the Chakras, and more into our practices.

Our first practice together at Harmony Dawn will be a 90 minute Restorative Yoga practice on Friday evening (which includes Yoga Nidra).  Saturday and Sunday mornings begin with a guided 30 – 45 minute Meditation Sit (or Walk, weather permitting) prior to breakfast. Saturday morning after breakfast we’ll settle into a delicious Yin Yoga practice focusing on hips and core. This will be followed by a Workshop on the Warriors: we’ll move through effective prep, alignment and depth for Warrior I, Warrior III, and Warrior II, an opportunity to deepen your yoga!

Later Saturday afternoon, we will explore together key poses in Partner Yoga, a delightful practice full of laughter and sighs and support from each other. Sunday morning’s yoga practice will be a more playful exploration of Yoga @ the Wall, and followed by our second Workshop on Inversions, again working through appropriate prep and alignment so we can experience the exhilaration of lifting up into Forearm Stand and Handstand. You can see our full schedule for the weekend here, and note there’s lots of free time built in for you to soak up the beautiful trails in the forest, walk the country roads, read, knit, or nap! The schedule is yours to partake in, or not. If you’d rather have a walk or a nap, take it!

Harmony Dawn is a beautifully-appointed retreat centre situated near the shores of peaceful Rice Lake, about a 2 hour drive from GTA. It is surrounded by 50 acres of rolling meadows and healing forest, with many delightful walking trails. Built with mindfulness to environmental impact, beauty, and sustainable materials, the Centre is entirely self-sustaining with renewable energy. Harmony Dawn was voted one of the greenest buildings in Canada. Because Harmony Dawn is off the grid, there is a calm and quiet in the building and surrounding natural area that is deeply rejuvenating. Their vision is to provide an ideal environment for self-transformation and renewal as well as giving guests an experience of a greener, more sustainable and attainable future.

Facilities include a cozy gathering space, a comfortable dining room overlooking the woods, a bright practice room facing the meadow, high-efficiency bathrooms, and comfortable shared sleeping quarters (no more than 4 to a room). Everyone leaves the Centre raving about the amazing vegetarian food by Nicola Lawrence James, chef and co-founder of Harmony Dawn.

Early Bird: $395 + hst, paid in full by August 14
Final: $445 + hst, paid in full by September 20

Please note:  retreat payment is a two-step process, with Tuition/Retreat Facilitation paid to Fit Journey, and Accommodations/Food paid to Harmony Dawn. When you make your payment to Fit Journey, you’ll receive an email within 24 hours with instructions on payment to Harmony Dawn.

Retreat Refund Policy
$100 Deposit is non-refundable.
No refunds from 7 days prior to retreat date (i.e. no refund after Sept 19).
50% refund up to 7 days prior to retreat date (prior to Sept 19), less $100 deposit and $25 admin fee. If we are able to fill your spot from the waiting list, full refund less $100 deposit and $25 admin fee. Full refund (no fees) if you are able to find a friend to take your spot.
