Train your functional strength with TRX, Kettlebells, and body weight to strengthen your legs, your core, your cardio. Single sided strength training is key to staying injury free, as is strengthening your stabilizers and core, and focusing on alignment and good form. An 8-week series where you can expect a progressive, challenging routine every week, finishing with 20 minutes of stretching and yoga. 6 class options per week. Cost: $145 + hst.

Welcome to an 8-week online version of Cross Train Runners! Get all the same benefits of our Cross Train Runners studio classes, within the comfort of your own home, and at your own schedule. This program includes 8 unique and challenging workouts, 8 coaching videos on topics such as The Mental Game, Periodization, Nutrition, etc, and a free 15 min Coaching Session with Sandy. Lee Danes; 75 minutes

Learn boxing fundamentals of pivot, stance, footwork, punching, defense, working with heavy bags and pads, and more. Lee uses traditional boxing drills and challenging conditioning work (circuit training, plyometrics, skipping, pushups), all integrated with breath control, and the grace of Tai Chi. Expect to sweat! Finish with 20 minutes of stretching and yoga. 8-week series. Cost: $145 + hst.

Boxing Fundamentals is the place to start if boxing is new to you.

Boxing Level II is for those experienced in Boxing, refining skills, strength, endurance and strategy.

Join our ‘Core Restore’ Pilates class (a beginner to intermediate practice), Wednesdays at 6pm!

 Build on the five Stott Pilates principles, while mastering the 10 warm-up exercises, and get familiar with the 15 intermediate level exercises. Each month has a theme with progressions built in from class to class.

By 7pm, you’ll feel stronger, balanced and tension free.

Women's Tone-up

Build your strength with like-minded women

Confidently build your strength, and reshape your shoulders, arms, tummy, butt and legs. This is a small-class format with like-minded women. We work with TRX, free weights, BOSU, kettle bells and body weight to change your body, spike metabolism (= burning fat longer), and give you energy. Note that weight-bearing exercise helps to prevent osteoporosis (degeneration of bone density, which affects 1 in 4 Canadian women). Finish with 20 minutes of stretching and yoga. Mindful Fitness for Aging Well

Mindful exercise to build muscle & Maintain bone density

As we age, we know we need to work even harder at building muscle mass and maintaining bone density. If you’re looking for a fitness class that’s designed around good form, safety, moderate progressions and fun, this is for you! Our small-class format ensures individual direction on postural form and the correct mechanics of the exercises to protect the joints. Modifications are provided for any injury or compensation needed. First floor access, no stairs to climb! Finish with 20 minutes of stretching and yoga. Cost: Yoga Class Card

Personal training means results.

Our emphasis at Fit Journey is on excellent form, programming and progressions appropriate to challenge an individual safely and at their level, ensuring training results and an enjoyable experience.

Whether you’re a long distance runner or cyclist looking to push your PB, or someone who’s never enjoyed the gym yet knows you need to exercise, or if you’re working around an injury or illness: personal training will reap the greatest rewards with thorough assessment, customized programming, and regular benchmark checks. Conversations around personal nutrition, self care and accountability also benefit each individual.

We’ve yet to meet a perfectly symmetrical person. Single sided training is essential to bring the body back into balance, both from strength and flexibility standpoints.

Variety is the spice of life! We utilize a broad range of equipment (including TRX, kettlebells, free weights, BOSU, balls & body weight) as well as many training methodologies (functional strength, HIIT, heart rate zones, pyramid sets, etc).

Sandy says I'm putting in the work, well, yes I am. However, she shapes it, challenging me safely to progress. My resting heart rate has gone from 67 BPM to 59 BPM. I'm stronger on my runs, sleep better, and have gone from the 10# weight to the 20# with confidence. I'm so grateful!” Colleen

Hatha Level I/II

Build Strength, challenge balance, find your centre

.Hatha yoga is the ‘original’ yoga practice from which many other styles have expanded. It’s the fundamental postures (asana) co-ordinated with the breath in a flowing manner, as well as mindful breath practices (pranayama), mindfulness, and meditation. Level I incorporates lying, seated and standing postures, including balance. Level II layers on more advanced versions of these postures, including backbends, arm balances and inversions. Yin / Restorative Yoga

Some call this dessert! Delicious Yin & Restore

Combine the quiet yet powerful practice of Yin Yoga with the healing, relaxing practice of Restorative Yoga for a delicious, centering result. Yin poses focus on the connective tissues and muscles of the legs, hips, back, chest & shoulders. Restorative poses are fully supported with soft props. Thai Yoga massage techniques from Denise further open the energy lines to encourage release and healing. This practice is especially beneficial for those with tight muscles and joints, or who are experiencing anxiety or fatigue, or who simply need to step away from the intensity of life. Slow Stretch Serenity

Explore luxurious flows, moving with your breath.

This slow-paced class allows you to explore luxurious flows with pauses to feel the stretch and notice your body adapting. Ease into a posture, find the courage to explore, and move slowly out. Benefit from full, deep inhalations and exhalations as your strengthen and stretch. Fully supported Restorative Yoga ends the practice to ensure deep relaxation. Cost: Yoga Class Card

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow creates harmony with your body, your breath, and your mind.

Vinyasa Flow is a style of practice whereby there are fluid transitions between postures with a conscious use of the inhale, and the exhale.
When we synchronize our breathing with our body’s movement patterns, it cues many of our internal systems to come into balance as well, including the busy system of the mind.

This is a Level II Hatha practice, which will safely challenge your mobility, stability, strength and flexibility. Various pranayama (breathing practices) will be incorporated. A satisfying practice to clear the cobwebs, build heat to purify, and we’ll finish with a lovely supported Savasana.

You’ll leave the practice feeling relaxed, refreshed and strong in your body and mind.

Candlelight Restorative

One Wonderful Friday evening, each month

This Friday evening Restorative practice will help you switch gears from high speed to low, and tap into your body's natural ability to release and restore.  In this safe and nurturing environmetm you can let go of your tension, calm your mind, and soothe your nervous system.

Give your nervous system a much-needed reboot!

Restorative yoga and props go hand in hand to carefully support the body as you ease into stillness and relaxation.  The long holds in each pose not only feel amazing, but also help to activate the body's natural healing systems.  The perfect recipe to melt away accumulated stress from your week!

Soft illumination of candles helps calm the mind and move us toward a more meditative tate.

This practice will help rejuvenate you and cultivate a shift in your physical and emotional well-being.  We'll end our practice with the beautifully restorative sound of a crystal bowl, and Savasana.

Once a month, I treat myself to this calm and peaceful practice on a Friday evening. At the end, I'm so relaxed that I float out of the studio! BA

Yoga Etiquette

Classes are approximately 60 minutes long, and are on a drop-in basis, unless otherwise noted. Please arrive 5 – 10 minutes prior. We respectfully ask that you do not wear scent, and turn off your cell phone.
